Die hard University of Washington fans may know her as Gretchen Maurer, a 5’10”, 3 year starting setter for the Huskies from 1999-2002. Maurer, now Killebrew, was a versatile player at University of Washington, while her main role was as a setter, she also saw action as a left side hitter. Killebrew grew up in San Clemente, California, playing for Saddleback Valley Volleyball Club. After her outstanding career at UW, Killebrew continued her career professionally in Portugal for Castelo Da Maia.
Today, her most common name is… “Mom.” The home schooling mother of two (Kye, 4 and Kalena, 1) currently resides in Woodinville, where she also raises chicken in a coop in their backyard. Killebrew brings a wealth of experience to the team, not only in professional experience, but also coaching experience. She spent time at Washington State, Seattle University and Bellevue CC, before settling into her now full-time position of “Mom.” This will be Killebrew’s second season with the Sound Premier Volleyball Team.
