Gig Harbor Grass Classic Sets the Gold Standard for Grass Tournaments

The Gig Harbor Grass Classic took place at Sehmel Park in Gig Harbor on Sunday August 4th.  Players and fans were treated to an exciting competitive tournament played on an immaculate grass playing surface.  There was an abundance of parking and amenities that included a concession stand run by Younglife of Gig Harbor.

"The playing surface is fantastic, the music has players dancing between points and everyone has a big smile on their face.  I think this will grow into one of the marquee events on the summer volleyball schedule in the Puget Sound Region," said Tournament Director Mati Bishop.

Gig Harbor Grass Classic Champions Mariah Vargas and Kasey Woodruff.

The tournament was a production of Penmet Parks and USA Volleyball in the Puget Sound Region.  Possible plans for future tournaments on the site involve the addition of a professional adult competition and live music.
